Work has officially started on the SKY Hope Recovery Center located in Somerset, Kentucky. A vision three years in the making, Somerset’s SKY Hope Center will be the 14th Recovery Kentucky center across the commonwealth. Recovery Kentucky is a joint effort by the Department of Local Government, the Department of Corrections and Kentucky Housing Corporation to provide a funding mechanism for these centers, which offer supportive housing and recovery services for the chronically homeless, many of whom suffer from chemical dependency and other special needs.
PDC Construction served as the General Contractor for one of the first Recovery Kentucky centers, the Owensboro Regional Recovery Center. The SKY Hope Recovery Center will be our second Recovery Kentucky project and a point of pride for everyone here at PDC. PDC Construction is working with a great Development Team, which includes Kentucky Housing Corporation, Fahe, The Adanta Group, AFA Engineers and Project Architect Thomas E. Lett. Construction on the 44,000-square foot facility is scheduled to last 12 months and will consist of a three-story building housing 70 apartment units and 100 beds with an additional 14,500 square foot commercial building.
